Inbound Marketing – clever buzz word or a smarter way to approach your marketing strategy?

Inbound marketing is a different way to approach your marketing strategy than you learned in Marketing 101 several years ago.  The “rules” of marketing are continuously changing, but this sort of strategy has staying power.

Not used for inbound marketingThe old marketing rules give you all sorts of methods to get out there and find those customers and cause them to pay attention to you and your message.  Inbound marketing is a less expensive and more efficient way to gain new customers.  The basic idea is this:  people are looking for your products and services right now, so you need to make sure they find you!  It really is that simple.  If you can make sure the right people find you instead of you finding them, you’ve already saved a ton of cash – but it doesn’t end there.

Once your potential customers have found you, what comes next?  The key is to capture information from your newly-acquired potential customers, and hopefully gain permission to open a dialogue with them.  We’ll discuss this in future blog posts.

This is used for inbound marketingWhy does an inbound marketing strategy have staying power?  Because the strategy stays the same regardless of changing technologies.  New technologies come and go – some of them sooner or later than others – but the strategy remains the same.  Think about your experience as a consumer.  How do you feel about interruption marketing/advertising?  It’s annoying isn’t it?  You know what you need and when you need it – you don’t need somebody to tell you.  You know how to get on the Internet and look for it.  When you find what you’re looking for, you’ve just become a potential customer (at some level) of inbound marketing.  Now think about how your customers will find you.

Let us help you get started with an inbound marketing strategy tailored to your needs and goals.
